Conflict of Interest Statement
As current school district employees it is important for us to address and eliminate any perception of a conflict of interest with the work that we do as part of our full-time employment with our home district and the work that we do outside of school hours as part of our educational non-profit.
This Conflict of Interest Statement was developed in accordance with our school district’s (Garnet Valley) School Board Policy 827 (Conflict of Interest), PA State Ethics Commission Regulations – 51 PA Code Sec. 15.2, and Public Official and Employee Ethics Act – 65 Pa. C.S.A. Sec. 1101 et seq.
In accordance with the policies and ethic acts mentioned above, the following conflict of interest statement was developed upon the creation of the Edvative Learning organization in 2018.
In order to avoid any such conflicts, all Edvative Learning associates agree to the following terms and conditions:
The associate shall disclose to their school district any potential conflicts of interest that may arise between the associate's employment with their school district and their work with Edvative Learning.
The associate shall not use any confidential or proprietary information of their school district district for the benefit of the Edvative Learning, nor shall the associate use any confidential or proprietary information of the Edvative Learning for the benefit of the school district.
The associate shall not use their position with their school district to gain any unfair advantage for Edvative Learning or to secure any preferential treatment for the organization.
The associate shall not participate in any school district decision-making process that could potentially benefit Edvative Learning, unless such participation is disclosed to the school district and approved by the district in advance.
The associate shall not undertake such activities that would impinge upon time and effort required to be exerted to discharge their responsibilities under their contract with their school district.
The associate shall not accept any gifts or other items of value from Edvative Learning that could be perceived as a conflict of interest.
The associate shall immediately notify their school district if they become aware of any potential or actual conflicts of interest that may arise between their employment with their district and their work with Edvative Learning.
